JISC and HEFCE have put a lot of thought into the creation of this new company.  One of the key reasons for creating a new entity and not simply transferring the responsibilities to an existing company such as JANET or JISC Collections was the belief that JISC Services needs to be embedded in the communities it serves.  The new company has therefore been set up in such a way that it can contract services back to the existing host institutions.  Given that being part of the community is a fundamental part of the ethos of JISC Services it would seem unlikely that the company would ever want to give up the value added by its hosts.
